What happened to Zenly
In August 2022, Snap said it was shutting Zenly down1 to focus its mapping on one service, the Snap Map inside Snapchat.2 Zenly was set to shut down on February 3, 2023.3 A lot of people still miss having a map that was just for their crew.
What Outft gives you
Start an Outft
Buds are your friends on Outft. An outft is your crew of 2 to 8: invite your Buds, and they show up on your map and you on theirs.
See who's close
See where your outft is and where they're heading, so you can meet up fast.
You pick how much
Buds see nothing until you share with them, and then only your neighborhood unless you choose to show more.
Ghost mode
Pause sharing with your Buds whenever you want. Nobody gets un-Budded, and you turn it back on when you're ready.
The honest part: parents
In Outft, a parent is a Honcho. If you're under 13, a parent sets up your account. Your Honchos can see where you are, even in ghost mode, because ghost mode is a break from Buds, not from family.
Nothing is hidden from you, though. You can always see exactly what each Honcho can see, and when they checked. Honchos never see your photos, and never see where your Buds are. See the kids' page
Private by design
- Your location is end-to-end encrypted, so even Outft can't see where you are.
- Buds connect in person with a QR code, or with a private invite link.
- No ads, and we never sell or share your data.
