Life360's help center says that if you're having trouble locating someone, the problem is likely with their phone's connection and signal.1 Its basic checklist, for the phone that isn't updating:1
- Logged in to Life360 on only one device at a time
- The phone is on, and Life360 is updated to the latest version
- A good cellular data connection, and not a mobile hotspot or a car's built-in Wi-Fi hotspot
- Life360 opened again after the battery died
- No VPN, and no parental control or security apps that interfere
- Life360 opened every two days, so it doesn't go into "sleep mode"
On iPhone

Why an old pin causes fights
The hard part isn't a pin that's late. It's not knowing it's late. A location from an hour ago, read as "right now", turns into "why were you there?"
How Outft shows freshness
Every pin says how fresh it is
You always see when a location was last updated, so an old spot never passes as live.
Offline says offline
If a phone can't be reached, the map says so, and why it thinks so. Honchos get a "can't reach" alert instead of a mystery.
Outft is built to go easy on batteries: it checks more often only while you're moving. It's coming soon to iPhone and Android, both on the same day. More Life360 problems, and how Outft handles them
