- In-app purchases are listed as Silver $9.99, Gold $16.99, Platinum $24.99, Plus $7.99 and Driver Protect $14.99. The listing doesn't say whether they're monthly or yearly.1 What each plan includes

Life360 on Android
- Ads and in-app purchases. The Google Play listing says the app contains ads and offers in-app purchases, and shows 100M+ downloads.2
- Permissions it asks for: location set to Allow all the time with precise location on, Physical Activity, and battery optimization turned off for Life360.3
What happens to your data
- Life360's Google Play data safety section says the app may share location and health and fitness data with third parties.2
- Its permission settings page says location data may be shared with partners for purposes including research, analytics, attribution and tailored advertising.3
- Turning off location sharing stops new updates, but Life360 says it doesn't delete the history it already has.6
Five questions to ask about any location app
- Does it work on every phone in your family? iPhone and Android, today and after the next upgrade.
- What will the features you want actually cost? Free to download isn't the same as free to use.
- Who else gets the data? Read the store's privacy section, not just the ad.
- Will your kid know what you can see? Kids who feel watched in secret switch it off.
- Can you choose how long history is kept? Less history is less to lose.
